The falcon has been the mascot of the cadet wing since 1955. Members of the Class of 1959,
the first to enter the Academy, chose the falcon as their mascot because they felt that it’s speed,
powerful and graceful flight, courage, keen eyesight, and alertness
best characterized the combat role of the United States Air Force.
Our falcon pin is handmade using antique and vintage stones and beads representing the Academy’s
four class colors: red, yellow, blue, and silver.
The falcon is made of a lightweight mirror alternative that will not shatter or tarnish. |
